Announcing a new special event:
Bugs for Breakfast: Are Insects the Future of Food?<https://ams.nyas.org/nyasssa/ecmssamsganalytics.click_through?p_mail_id=E206131A6819548B1C51628>
[Fried Insects - Yummy!]

In many countries around the world eating insects is no big deal—they are a tasty snack food, or a cheap source of protein and nutrients in main dishes. But in places like the US, there's a huge cultural stigma around eating bugs.

Just last month, a new report from the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization recommended that insects could provide a positive protein alternative for more of the world's population. Plus they have to potential to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and livestock populations. At a time when many people are talking about finding more sustainable food sources, maybe it's time we think about getting over our arthropod aversion!

Join us Wednesday, June 26 at 7pm, here at the Academy, for this special talk by leading entomologist, Dr. Louis N. Sorkin of the American Museum of Natural History.

Not only will you learn something, you'll also get to sample some these protein-rich critters!
