Subject: Competitive foods rule is now at OMB

USDA has completed work on the competitive foods rule and sent it over to OMB on Friday, June 14 ( http://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/eoDetails?rrid=123103). Though officially OMB could keep it for longer, this surely means that the interim final rule will be out by July 1, and the rule can go into effect the school year beginning in the summer of 2014. We will keep a close watch on when the rule comes out and be back in touch with more details.
