Specifically, the Culinary Nutritionist is responsible for:
--Application of SPE charters to food service operations regarding nutrition and sourcing criteria
--Collaboration with SPE chefs and food service staff to develop and certify dishes
--Recipe analysis based on SPE requirements, using SPE's proprietary processes
--Certification related documentation such as recipe and nutritional validation
--Collection of website related content for food service operation web pages
--Data entry of dishes into SPE Certified website
--Training of restaurant staff
--On-going management of customer relationship, including tracking and communication of client status and needs with Culinary Nutrition team and other relevant SPE departments
-Back up support of the Culinary Nutrition staff at Rouge Tomate for certification related activities, recipe and nutrition analysis, menu description development, allergen identification, etc.
-Working with consulting engagement project teams conducting nutrition research, recipe analysis, menu and recipe development, menu labels, nutrition facts labels, allergen analysis, legislative compliance reviews and sustainability evaluations. Specifically including:
--Project related research and skilled evaluation of data and findings
--Support for presentation development and delivery to high level clients, depending on experience level
-Support nutrition team in SPE Charter maintenance activities
-Collaboration with SPE culinary team on internal recipe development, testing and analysis
-Remain abreast of nutrition and food related science and industry developments
-As requested, work with Marketing and Sales department to participate in the promotion of SPE to customers, suppliers, scientific organizations and media agencies
-Work with interns and support development of training program
-Additional culinary nutrition related tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Nutrition or related field with RD credential
-Experience analyzing nutritional data using standard nutrition analysis software
-Proficient using MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint; Experience using MS Access a plus
-Experience in management consulting, project management/account management related field or food service industry preferred
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to work successfully on projects in parallel
-Excellent communication skills to facilitate cooperation with all staff levels, both internally and externally (restaurants, food service providers, executive teams, and fellow associates)

About the Job
Neighborhood WIC (Women, Infants and Children), a program of Public Health Solutions, seeksaProject Director ("WIC Services Director") to oversee the Neighborhood WIC program, including program management, strategic planning, managing staff, budget oversight, data management and reporting. WIC is an essential part of the food safety net, providing special supplemental foods, nutrition education and counseling to low-income pregnant women, infants and children up to age five who are at nutritional risk. In addition, WIC Staffencourage new mothers to breastfeed, monitor participants' height and weight and children's immunization status; and refer them as needed to other social services.
Neighborhood WIC is the largest New York State WIC program. We currently have 9 WIC centers located in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, serving approximately 46,000 families annually, with almost 150 staff. Neighborhood WIC has beenserving families in New York City for over 35 years, funded by the US Department of Agriculture and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), with an approximate $8 million budget. In the fall of 2013, the WIC Services Director will be responsible for responding to the expected New York State Department of Health funding announcement that supports the WIC program's base grant.
The WIC Services Director will very closely collaborate with PHS' WIC Vendor Management program, which oversees more than 2000 stores who are licensed to accept WIC checks. In addition, the WIC Services Director will participate in the Division of Public Health Programs Leadership Team, and will collaborate with other program directors in the areas of reproductive health, child development, enrollment in public benefits, etc. The WIC Services Director will work closely with Federal, State and local government, other WIC programs, and with the larger community of organizations and individuals concerned with improving women and children's nutrition and health, and New York City's food systems.
Reporting to the VP of Public Health Programs, the WIC Services Director will:
• Maintain the program and budget integrity of the WIC program
• Comply with all State and Federal regulations
