A number of members of the Food Marketing Workgroup had the good fortune of being at the White House yesterday. The First Lady gave a great speech about food marketing to children. She talked about the important affect it has on children’s diets and health. She acknowledged the positive steps companies have taken to address food marketing to children, but called on them to do more, faster.

It's great to have the Administration join the effort to reduce unhealthy food marketing to kids – raising the visibility of the issue and putting the industry on notice that it is expecting more progress on this issue. We have already had several conversations with the White House about next steps and look forward to working with them and all of you to accelerate progress in reducing unhealthy food marketing to children.
