Dear Linda,

You are special, and I hope that you can help me.

CSPI is growing, and we're expanding our staff to tackle more projects than ever!

You might know some qualified candidates who fit what we need. At the top of our list for hiring? A "Director of Health Promotion Policy," and here's a brief description of the position --
____________________________________________________

Director of Health Promotion Policy
CSPI seeks a highly motivated leader to direct its Health Promotion Policy Project. This Project advocates for national and local government policies that promote health and prevent diet-related chronic disease. It also encourages food manufacturers to improve their products. The Project’s current focus is on reducing consumption of soft-drinks, sodium, and sugar, and eliminating artificial trans fat from the food supply.

The successful candidate will have a M.P.H., Ph.D., or M.D. and at least ten years of experience in a leadership role in public-health advocacy. Sophisticated understanding of the impact of diet on health and demonstrated public-interest orientation, as well as experience in conceiving and implementing advocacy campaigns, are essential.

Please visit our Web site to view the full job description, with instructions about how to apply: About CSPI's job opening for the Director of Health Promotion Policy<http://my.cspinet.org/site/R?i=YIiPpv8ZD_GaReUT4sKmaw>.

About CSPI:

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is a consumer-advocacy organization that conducts innovative research and advocacy programs in health and nutrition, and provides consumers with reliable heath information.

CSPI's three main goals are:

  *   To provide objective information to the public and policymakers and to conduct research on food, health, the environment, and other issues related to science and technology;

  * To represent citizens' interests before regulatory, judicial, and legislative bodies on health and environment issues; and

  * To ensure that science and technology are used for the public good and to encourage scientists to engage in public-interest activities.

Here is what people say about CSPI:

“I admire the work CSPI does, the great strides you’ve made towards public awareness, and the life-changing information you provide. Thank you for all you do for the public welfare.”

Cayel Tregeagle
Orem, Utah

“I’ve been a member of CSPI (and subscriber to Nutrition Action Healthletter) for 20 years and no one deserves the Centers for Disease Control Hero Award more than Michael Jacobson and CSPI!”

Sloan Kojis
Wake Forest, North Carolina
