colon cancer screening project at the

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

 

 

Program Overview

The Cancer Prevention and Control Program of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene focuses on improving cancer screening rates in NYC by both building capacity for screening and encouraging patient referral and public awareness.  Through an innovative colon cancer screening intervention which includes patient navigation, direct endoscopic referral, and intensified outreach to ambulatory patients, important achievements have been realized in boosting efficient screening capacity and in increasing the numbers of patients screened for colon cancer. 

 

 

Internship Project

Graduate Intern will assist in data collection and tracking interventions in the Colonoscopy Patient Navigator Program (CPNP).  Specific tasks include:

This is a paid internship and requires minimum a commitment of 14 hours per week.
