Research volunteer opportunities are available in the Du laboratory at Weill Medical College for students who major in Biology. Your primary responsibility will be to ongoing research projects being conducted in the laboratory in an effort to improve our understanding of cancer and to help organize the laboratory. Minimal 15 hours per week is required during the semesters and minimal 40 hours per week is required during the school break. Opportunities for high-level involvement in specific research projects are available to motivated, reliable, interested individuals in addition to baseline commitment. 

There is no pay for the volunteer position. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience in bench research. In addition, the director of the laboratory expects to write letters in support of volunteers who perform well to the future education program that you are pursuing (i.e. graduate schools or health-related fields). 

Minimum Course Requirement: General Biology (includes lab)

Minimum Grade Point Average: 3.5
