Putting education into action, we recently installed our first Grow Tower in a South Bronx school. This is a revolutionary technique that enables students and teachers to
grow fresh produce year-round in schools. According to
research, kids who grow their own vegetables and fruits are more willing to taste and even like them.
The success of the Grow Tower concept was applauded during the recent
TEDxManhattan conference attended by FoodFight's cofounders.
We plan to continue implementing the Grow Tower in FoodFight schools across the five boroughs and measuring how this component is shifting school culture.

Annual Benefit...with a Swirl
Mark your calendars! This year's benefit is quickly approaching. As in years past, this is no rubber chicken dinner. 4 graffiti artists will take the floor to create art
during a live "battle" - we won't divulge too much, you'll just have to come and be a part of the action. Get your tickets
here.
The night will be "splattered" with one-of-a-kind food and drinks, and a live auction featuring unique experiences. Most importantly, you will meet FoodFight students and
teachers who are making healthier choices and inspiring those in their learning communities to do the same.

Special Thanks to Our Supporters
We would like to extend a special note of thanks to The Palette Fund, Whole Kids Foundation, and
Organic Valley for their renewed support in 2014. We are grateful for the
many individual donors who help us move the FoodFight forward, and would also like to thank the
Lucius N. Littauer Foundation, Newman's Own Foundation, and FreshDirect for recently pledging their support.

Dig Inn opened their 7th location in Morningside Heights (near Columbia University) and donated all proceeds from opening day to FoodFight. We are excited to announce that
the local community contributed $3,612 to support our work in schools. Dig Inn will continue to fundraise throughout the year to support our programs in their neighborhood. Click

HelloFresh Spreads the Word About Our Work
HelloFresh, a service that delivers delicious recipes and exact ingredients to your door, included a FoodFight
flyer in all of their 2,500 deliveries over Valentine's Day week and spread the word in the Twitterverse (#FightforFresh). HelloFresh subscribers are big fans of healthy cooking and fresh food, and we hope this is a first step in encouraging them to join the
FoodFight.
