Mount Sinai Medical School Information Session
April 9 | 1pm-2:30pm, HW 215

Roland Pinzon, Recruitment Coordinator, and Dr. Basil Hanss, Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences will share information about the various graduate programs at Mt. Sinai, tips on how to apply and what they are looking for in candidates.


Managing Test Anxiety in STEM Disciplines

Integrating into the Job Market

Join Karen Perlman, Academic Coach, to learn imperative skills for attaining a position with both Deaf and hearing employers. This job readiness training will focus on effective resume and cover letter writing as well as dressing for success, networking, interview skills and the soft skills needed to break into careers. The MBRS-RISE program offers research experience and academic and financial support for undergraduate and graduate students interested in biomedical research and eventually obtaining a PhD. Students participate in a Hunter Faculty member’s research lab, and receive financial support and a tuition waiver. Students also receive support to present their work at a scientific conference, and participate in other professional development activities.

The MARC program trains talented students in biomedical research and encourages them to pursue PhDs in this field. Students are offered a short introductory course in biomedical research, the opportunity to participate in faculty research, and the opportunity to present at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students.

The MIND Alliance, in collaboration with the Office of AccessABILITY and SciMON, is pleased to offer five undergraduate research internship stipends in the amount of $1,500 for the summer of 2014. Students must obtain a commitment from a Hunter faculty member in a STEM discipline to mentor them on a research project during the summer of 2014.  The internship will take place between June 2 and August 22, 2014.  The individual student and faculty member will determine the specific weekly schedule.
