The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for food is probably the most widely used indicator of changes in retail food prices. ERS regularly updates food price forecasts
for the short-term period.

The Quarterly Food-Away-From-Home Prices (QFAFHP) data set provides quarterly prices (not including taxes) for food away from home (FAFH) and alcohol, both at home
and away from home, to support research on the economic determinants of diet quality and health outcomes.
