Right now a new bill to label genetically engineered foods is about to be introduced in the New York state assembly and thousands of mothers, farmers and activists across the state are joining together to show their support!

The opposition is working behind the scenes and we need your help today! If passed, New York would become the fourth state in the U.S. to require mandatory labeling of GMOs in our food.

Last week in Vermont, Gov. Peter Shumlin signed the first no strings attached GMO labeling bill into law in the U.S., which means that in Vermont, GMOs will be labeled beginning July 1st, 2016. This is an incredible historic moment for all of us and we need your help to make sure that New York is next! Already last year GMO labeling bills passed in Connecticut and Maine and we need you to help make sure New York leads the way in the fight to require mandatory labeling of GMOs in our food.

At the moment, 13 new GMO crops are awaiting approval at the USDA, including Dow Chemical’s 2,4-D Agent Orange corn and the “botox” GMO apple. At the same time, the FDA is getting ready to approve genetically engineered salmon. If approved, Aquabounty’s GMO salmon would be the first genetically engineered animal allowed on the market and it would appear on your plates unlabeled!

Citizens in 64 other countries enjoy the basic right of knowing if their food has been genetically engineered, but for the past 20 years Americans have been denied this basic democratic right.

With your help, we can change that! Join us to help make GMO labeling a reality in New York!

If we are what we eat, let us know what we're eating! It's time to label GMOs. Join us to help make GMO labeling a reality in New York! Please sign the petition below to make your voice heard:
