Carey Mittermeier, a 2013 KEMS recipient, worked with FSD community partner Vikalp Sansthan in Udaipur, India to conduct surveys of adolescents in urban slum communities. These surveys assessed basic health needs and knowledge in relation to gender-based discrimination and violence, and informed recommendations on ways for Vikalp to address public health knowledge gaps among adolescents in slum communities.
