POLICY INTERN

Slow Food USA supports food that is good, clean, and fair. We believe that
everyone, every day, must have access to culturally meaningful, sustainably
and humanely produced food that is good for their health and well-being and
that food production must be good for the planet and good for those who bring
food to our tables.

We know that our individual, informed choices and actions can support good,
clean, and fair food. We also know that public policy, at federal, state, and
local levels, greatly influences what and how food is produced and how the
environment, and people at all ends of the food chain are affected by the
production and availability of food.

We know too that to achieve and maintain good, clean, and fair food and
farming, we must advocate for policies that support our principles and against
policies that undermine them. The Slow Food USA Food and Farm Policy Steering
Committee helps guide the work of the Slow Food USA Policy Task Force, which
is a network of volunteers across the country that advocate in their
communities for better food and farm policy.

Responsibilities:
Scheduling and attending at regular and ad hoc Policy Committee meetings
(primarily via teleconference)
Taking and distributing Policy Committee meeting minutes, as necessary
Coordinating policy advocacy actions with SFUSA executive and other staff,
Policy Committee members, Policy Task Force (Task Force) members, and others,
