It also prepares health professionals in the principles and skills required for chronic disease management. The curriculum includes content areas of the Certified Diabetes Educator® (CDE®) examination and the American Diabetes Association's National Standards for Diabetes Self- Management Education (DSME) programs. Target Audience Nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, dietitians and master certified health education specialists. Accreditation CME Winthrop University Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
