CHILD LIFE PLAYROOM VOLUNTEER:
Seeking a volunteer to work in pediatric clinic Playroom at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Details: Our clinic offers primary care to patients from birth through 18 years. These patients come for sick visits, annual physicals, and specialty clinics. The Child Life Specialist team offers ways to decrease anxiety and normalize hospital settings for pediatric patients and their families. One of the ways we do this is by offering the opportunity to play in our playroom while they wait to be seen by the healthcare team. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help run this playroom on weekday afternoons. This includes having parents sign children in to the playroom, engage with children (reading stories, playing games, coloring, and other arts and crafts activities), and ensuring infection prevention and control measures by wiping down toys and games at the end of each shift.

Hour Requirement:

* Total hospital requirement is 150 Hours over the course of your volunteerism.

* Volunteer shifts are from 1:00-5:00pm.

* We are looking for volunteers to cover Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday afternoons.
