Duties & Responsibilities of the Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
· Develop menus on a weekly basis and discuss upcoming meal plans with the Coordinator of Nutrition

· Assure kitchen compliance with all regulatory mandates of New York City and NY State Department of Health.
· Maintain continuous quality improvement with ongoing quality assurance inspections, including monthly sanitation/infection control inspections.
· Oversee budget expenditures and maintain invoice records and daily tally sheets.
· Order and maintain inventory of all food and supplies, including surgical gloves, uniforms and linens; check deliveries for accuracy and quality.
· Manage routine operations
· Work with the Manager of the VWW staff in creating a warm, safe, inviting environment in the dining room.
· Coordinate and maintain kitchen/dining room volunteer schedule.
· Use the time during lunch and dinner service to mingle with clients to establish better relationships with clients.
· To assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent experience and culinary degree/certification New York State Food Handlers Certificate.
Experience: Proven food service/restaurant experience.
Related Skills/Knowledge: Must have excellent knowledge of nutrition, budgeting, and inventory control; equipment maintenance; food preparation, handling and presentation. Excellent cooking, supervisory, communication and organizational skills.

Volunteer Tour Guide Summary We are seeking outgoing and enthusiastic individuals interested in local food, sustainable agriculture and education, for a hands-on, creative position with our School Tours at Greenmarket program. This unpaid position offers individuals an opportunity to help facilitate educational tours on-site at farmers markets this spring. A commitment to volunteering at the Union Square Greenmarket on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday at least once a week is necessary. Weekly office hours and the ability to travel and help facilitate tours at Greenmarket locations throughout New York City on other weekdays are also required.
· Set up and break down Union Square Education Station (includes some heavy lifting)

Job Description:
The Health and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for working with single adults with HIV/AIDS, living in supportive housing, towards comprehensive physical and emotional health and independence. By emphasizing health and wellness and using a client centered approach, the Health and Wellness Coordinator will provide individual and group interventions to maximize personal growth, housing stability and achievement of goals, while also building a respectful and positive community. This position will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team in supportive housing serving single adults with HIV/AIDS impacted by mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness. Responsibilities:
· Develops and implements progressive programming (serving individuals and groups) aimed at ensuring all clients have access to information and services based on best practices in the delivery of health and wellness programming;
· Works closely with clients and social workers to provide services focusing on health and wellness and support individualized service planning;
· Builds partnerships and linkages with progressive and/or alternative community agencies that serve the needs of clients;
· Trains staff and serves as a program expert in provision of best practices and progressive services and programming related to health and wellness;
· Participates in weekly clinical case conferences, regular staff meetings, individual supervision and other meetings as required;
· Documents all client work in confidential electronic records;
· Completes reports as directed by supervisor; and
· Performs other job-related functions, as assigned.



Qualifications:
A Master’s degree for the Health and Wellness Coordinator position is strongly preferred, and a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ experience providing direct service to populations impacted by HIV/AIDS, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness is required. The Health and Wellness Coordinator should have experiences with alternative health and wellness concepts and programming including smoking cessation, stress management, harm reduction, relaxation techniques and nutrition. Candidates should have the ability to work as a collaborative team member with a diverse population, be proactive problem solvers willing and able to seek creative solutions in the interest of clients and building a strong and respectful community and have experience providing training to staff, facilitating groups and effectively engaging clients with multiple barriers to stability and independence.

· Provide and document participant-centered nutrition education (individual/family sessions or facilitated group discussions) responsive to the identified needs/interests of participants.
· Provide and document appropriate follow up referrals to other health and social services agencies for participants, especially for those with additional nutrition or health concerns.
· Implement optional individual care plans for participants, especially participants at risk.
· Track participants' progress, including goals set, to improve their health and document outcomes.
· Assist other WIC staff in planning and evaluating participant- centered education, developing and delivering training for local agency staff, and training and mentoring new WIC staff.
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition.
· Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
· 1-2 years related experience.
· Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
· Clean, valid NYS Driver's License.
