Dear Ms. Arlene Spark, A new season of Lecture Programs is starting, and we have two exciting, upcoming events featuring Japanese cuisine and art here at Japan Society. In the Get to Know Japan Series’ inaugural event, we will introduce the cuisine and cultural treasures of Ishikawa Prefecture. Renowned chef and food ambassador of Ishikawa Prefecture, Michael Romano will showcase the prefecture’s rich food culture. Ohi Toshio, a member of the historic Ohi Pottery Family, will discuss his company’s iconic ceramic works as well as the local art of Ishikawa. The event is followed by a reception featuring seven breweries’ delicious regional sakes along with various local foods to sample.
