Announcing a new and innovative program to bring NYS Marketplace health
insurance enrollment (ACA) right to CUNY students on campus. This initiative,
Enroll CUNY, is a collaboration between the CUNY University Student Senate (USS), the CUNY School of Public Health (CUNYSPH) and the national non-profit organization, Seedco.
A total of
6 CUNY students will be trained and licensed as Certified Application Counselors (CUNY students) allowing them to advise and enroll eligible students in private health insurance during open enrollment
November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015. Because students are more likely to enroll when they receive their information from a trusted peer, the 6 Certified Application Counselors will be able to make a major difference in the health of CUNY students.
Individuals filling the Certified Application Counselor positions will provide professional and confidential assistance to CUNY students seeking health insurance, including assisting students
with completing the online enrollment. Supported by 40 CUNY student Health Ambassadors, they will spread the word at the 3 CUNY Bronx campuses and be ready to assist students with their questions and enrollment.
We need
3 MPH students who are interested in interviewing for these CAC positions. They will be
trained along with 3-4 CUNY students from the Bronx campuses.
Hired individuals must attend a
mandatory three-day New York State Department of Health (DOH) certification training on November 4 - 6, 2014 from 9:00am-5:00pm.
