The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences in The Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University is recruiting a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member (12 month appointment) with expertise in the area of public health nutrition, including (but not restricted to) community nutrition, obesity prevention, food and nutrition policy, food security, the food and nutrition environment, food systems, nutrition assessment, nutrition epidemiology, or nutrition-related health promotion. 

 

Primary responsibilities for the position include an active role in public health nutrition research, teaching, and service.  The successful candidate will devote approximately 50% effort to obtaining, implementing or overseeing funded research, and 50% to teaching, mentoring (students and junior faculty), and educational administration.

 

Qualifications for the position include: 1) an earned doctorate in nutrition, public health, or epidemiology; 2) relevant nutrition-related research experience; 3) relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals; 4) evidence of (or potential for) obtaining independent external research funding, and 5) evidence of successful teaching and advising experience.
