to work closely with a faculty mentor on one or more research projects related their specific sub-specialty. The primary focus of this internship is clinical research and writing. Each departmental track of the program will grant admission to 2-3 students.
These students will have the unique opportunity to join a faculty member in completing an ongoing research project and/or create a new project proposal with his or her mentor's guidance. Research Interns will also gain valuable insight into the publication
process, including opportunities to participate in co-authorship of research projects in peer-reviewed pediatric journals.
While participating in the program, interns will be invited and encouraged to attend pediatric grand rounds as well as other lectures
of interest available through the Department of Pediatrics at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital. There will also be opportunities for students to shadow clinical staff members throughout the program to provide clinical exposure.
Students who are interested in science, medicine, and clinical research are encouraged to apply to the 2015 Summer Clinical Research
Internship. The internship is open to undergraduates, post baccalaureate and first year medical students. The ideal applicant is a student aspiring to attend a graduate program in medicine with a strong academic record and an interest in pediatrics.
