The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Data Assistant to join a team of researchers examining behavioral issues related to cancer. The Data Assistant would be a valued team member for a study that examines tobacco cessation intervention practices among dental care providers in New York City.  The Data Assistant supports the work of the Clinical Research Supervisor by performing supervised tasks including data collection, literature reviews and synopses, data management and data cleaning, basic statistical analyses, and formatting of results for eventual presentation and/or publication.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and familiarity with US healthcare system; Prior execution of research projects related to healthcare delivery either in a work environment or in an academic program; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint; Familiarity with Microsoft Access or other relational database preferred; Familiarity with basic statistical package desirable (e.g. STATA, SAS, SPSS); Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent logical reasoning and quantitative abilities.; Proficiency in advanced literature, internet, and library search skills.
