PRIMARY CARE INFORMATION PROJECT
RESEARCH AND EVALUATION DATA COORDINATOR
The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) is devoted to
improving population health in underserved neighborhoods through health information technology. The PCIP is the
largest project of its kind nationwide, focusing on the efficient use of prevention oriented electronic health records
(EHRs) in New York City. We strive to transform the quality of health care services in these neighborhoods by helping
providers use electronic health records and other health technology to improve the quality of care.
PCIP also operates the New York City Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH) by
assisting providers in New York City through practice transformation, quality improvement initiatives and other
support services, such as Meaningful Use support, revenue cycle management, and data security. To find out more

In collaboration with The Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY), a not for profit corporation serving as program
partner with DOHMH to implement and advance public health initiatives, NYC REACH is seeking a Research and
Evaluation Data Coordinator.
Reporting to the Manager of Health System Utilization, the Research and Evaluation Data Coordinator will provide
survey, data, and administrative support to the Evaluation, Research and Analysis team. This position will assist in
researching, collecting, and storing relevant publicly available datasets and maintaining reporting systems relevant to
the evaluation of PCIP programmatic work, and to PCIP’s health service equity research. This position will also assist in
survey design, analysis and data visualization and presentation.
The Research and Evaluation Data Coordinator will be responsible for:
 Assisting in data tracking, reporting and simple analysis to support evaluation of PCIP’s programs
 Survey design and analysis
 Grant administration as needed
 Assisting in coordinating evaluation efforts for PCIP programs
 Exploration of publicly‐available datasets that can enhance PCIP’s ability to plan and execute health service
equity research
 Maintaining and updating maps, visualizations and presentation materials that describe PCIP’s research and
evaluation findings
 Coordination of team projects and collaboration activities
 Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
 Minimum 1 year research experience required; 2‐3 years preferred. Public health or health systems research
experience a plus.
 High proficiency working with data required.
 Familiarity with survey design and analysis preferred.
 Interest in working in a data‐intensive environment required.
 Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
