Department of Family, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences at Queens College invites applications for adjunct faculty in several nutrition areas. We are recruiting adjunct lecturers for the Fall 2015 semester to teach Medical Nutrition Therapy, Nutrition Assessment, Life Cycle and Community Nutrition as well as a graduate seminar class in an area of your expertise. For the graduate seminar we are particularly looking to expand student knowledge on nutritional issues of aging, though other subject matter would be considered. 3. Supervises nutritional planning, food production/preparation, dietary modifications and make all necessary adjustments on weekly menu of the ADHC with food service staff.

4. Contributes to initial and ongoing comprehensive care planning and attends comprehensive care planning meetings, morning rounds when on site.

5. Develops and facilitates group sessions in consultation with interdisciplinary team to address nutrition, menu planning, cooking, and current trends in diet therapy to clients in program.

6. Provides in-service education to the program staff and volunteers.

7. Acts as liaison to external care providers in regard to possible interaction of medical condition, drug treatment, and nutritional status.

8. Maintains client caseload for purpose of coordinating care both within program and with outside case management providers.

9. Insure the integrity and confidentiality of all patient information in the EHR by not sharing personal user name or password with other staff.

10. Insure the integrity and confidentiality of all patient information in the EHR by exiting the application or locking the system when away from the computer

11. Supports and participates in advocacy efforts to end the twin crises of homelessness and AIDS.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Designs and implements nutrition program(s) for area of practice.
Serves as liaison between Food & Nutrition Services and specialized areas. Represents the department on hospital committees; participates in community nutrition activities and continuing education programs.

B.S. degree in Nutrition, Food & Nutrition or equivalent and 2 years clinical nutrition experience in health care setting; registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency of the American Dietetic Association. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
