Dear Student, It is my pleasure to invite you to the 2015 SNDA Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Symposium, a special event held each year at the Columbia University Medical Center. Organized by the Student National Dental Association at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, the symposium's purpose is to highlight an intriguing yet relatively unknown surgical specialty, oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS). The symposium will consist of case presentations by practitioners in the OMS field, with expertise spanning biomedical research, hospital-based practice, and facial prosthetics. In the past, specific subjects have included trauma care, orthognathic surgery, head and neck cancer, facial reconstruction, and plastic surgery. Following the presentation, there will have a chance to ask questions to a panel of current CDM doctoral students and post-doctoral OMS residents. Lastly, Columbia College of Dental Medicine Admissions and Financial Aid representatives will present and answer questions about applying to and financing a dental education. The event will take place on Saturday March 7, 2015 at 630 West 168th Street, New York, NY 10032 in the P&S building, room A1. The program will last from 08:30am until 3:30pm.
