Even if you are ready, you might be tempted to wait until later in the year to take the new MCAT exam. But there are benefits to taking the exam earlier that you won’t want to pass up:

  * You will receive preliminary percentile rank ranges approximately three weeks after your exam. Your official scores will be released on June 16. Your preliminary percentile rank ranges will give you an estimate of how you’ll stack up against other examinees who took the exam.

  * You will have more time to decide whether to retake the exam. If you take the exam later in the testing year, you will have less time in the admissions cycle to decide on retaking the exam, and less time to make decisions on which medical schools to apply. Consult with your pre-health advisor on what’s right for you.

  * You will be able to submit your AMCAS application to medical schools at the same time as students who took the old exam. Your scores will be transmitted to your application before AMCAS sends the first round of verified applications to medical schools in early July.

  * You'll get a *$150 Amazon Gift Card if you take the exam in April. When you take the exam, whether you submit it for scoring or you void it, you'll still receive the gift card approximately three weeks later.

As an examinee taking the new exam in April, your scores will help set the new score scale for the exam that will be in place for the next 15 years! Click here<http://echo4.bluehornet.com/ct/55820667:29129515302:m:1:2692870743:FD9411E42982FF545906128B273A646C:r> to see an overview of the timeline.
