Attention Pre-Health Undergraduates: We are looking for volunteers for the LGBT Health Workforce Conference being held at Hunter, Friday, 5/1 – Sunday 5/3. Volunteers will assist with registration, give directions to attendees, etc. If you volunteer, you can attend the workshops and enjoy meals for free. You can view the schedule of workshops and panels here: http://bngap.org/lgbthwfconf/program/. Training health care professionals to provide culturally competent care to LGBT individuals is gaining traction in many healthcare settings but certainly not all of them, especially outside of urban areas like NYC. Please consider attending the conference (and volunteering for a shift!) so you can learn more about working with LGBT patients once you are a medical or dental provider. The conference is followed by a career fair for pre-health students on Sunday afternoon featuring representatives from medical, dental, and nursing schools. All students are welcome to attend. This event is free to all. Please contact me at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> if you are interested in volunteering at the conference and indicate which of the shifts below you can take.
