Please join Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab and Arts
Across the Curriculum at Roosevelt House for a screening of the new film The American Nurse followed by a panel discussion with the director. This revelatory documentary explores some of the biggest
issues we face today--aging, war, poverty, prisons--by focusing on the lives and work of five men and women who serve on the front lines of healthcare, navigating their patients through birth, death, prison, war and harsh poverty. Following the screening,
director Carolyn Jones will discuss the film with Professor
Jay Roman of Hunter's Department of Film & Media and
Shyama Venkateswar, Director of the Public Policy Program at Roosevelt House. Barbara Glickstein of the Center for Health,
Media and Policy at Hunter College will moderate.
