Are you looking for a great opportunity to get experience in the classroom?
In Harlem RBI's REAL Kids' Eat REAL food and nutrition program, elementary school students explore plant-based foods through hands-on activities and workshops centered around local, seasonal ingredients. Eat REAL has its roots in the Tisch Food Center's EarthFriends program and is now co-managed by former EarthFriends instructors.

Volunteers will gain valuable experience as nutrition educators.
Volunteers will work alongside experienced educators to prepare lessons and recipes, teach lessons and provide some classroom management help, and assist in cleaning up afterwards.

Hands-on, experiential learning
Students in the 1.5-hour workshops learn how to cook with locally sourced ingredients; learn why whole foods are good for our bodies; taste new foods; and consider how they can navigate their food environment to make more healthful food choices.
