NEW! Supermarket Business and Industry Skills to Thrive in Retail Dietetics - Online Certificate of Training Program

There has been a heightened interest in registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) practicing in retail settings. To respond to this trend, the Academy Center for Professional Development, with experts in the field of supermarket business, offer a new online certificate program to help RDNs learn business basics, influence the retail environment, create return on investment, build and nurture community and business relationships and understand the roles and responsibilities of today's retail dietitian. The course was Planned with the Retail Dietitians Business Alliance and the Food Marketing Institute and developed in cooperation with the Academy Supermarket Retail Work Group consisting of Karen Buch, RDN, LDN, Judy Dodd, MS, RD, LDN, FAND, Annette Maggi, MS, RD, LD, FADA, Julie McMillin, RD, LD, Cathy Polley, RPh, Shari Steinbach, MS, RDN, and Ellie Wilson, MS, RDN.

The Level 2 program consists of four separate modules that build on each other:

  *   Module 1: Retail 101: Navigating the Landscape
  *   Module 2: Roles and Responsibilities of the Retail Dietitian: In store, regional and corporate
  *   Module 3: Expanding Your Reach by Developing Internal and External Partnerships
  *   Module 4: The Metrics of Success: ROI (Return on Investment) and other Tools for Measuring Results

To receive the certificate associated with this training, all four modules and related tests must first be completed and a subsequent final post test exam in Module 4 must be passed with a minimum of an 80 percent score. The Certificate of Training can then be downloaded and printed from the site.

Academy members enjoy a reduced rate of $19 for each module or may complete all four modules and earn 8.0 hours of CPEUs for $76.
