Exciting news! Governor Cuomo has established $350,000 in new grants to help schools access healthy food from New York State, and your local school district can apply! The new grants support infrastructur e, training for food service staff, and coordination with local farms to help schools create a sustainable system for years to come. To help school districts get started on the road to healthy food, take a look at DASH-NY’s brief, Healthy Food Procurement Policy for New York State. The brief introduces local food procurement policies in New York State and potential areas for change. The document will help school districts understand how Farm to School programs fit into a larger policy framework.
