The National WIC Association, located in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Public Health Nutritionist to join its team of dedicated professionals. The Association represents more than 12,000 service provider agencies that offer quality nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health care and other social referral services to at-risk women and young children in over 10,000 clinics nationwide. The incumbent will participate in the Association’s nutrition and breastfeeding-related activities and programs. Major responsibilities include preparing and delivering verbal and written reports and communications on issues of interest to the WIC community; assisting in the review and analysis of pertinent nutrition and breastfeeding research/studies; assisting in developing and writing responses to calls for comments on nutrition/ breastfeeding-related policies, guidance, regulations, and legislation; representing the Association at stakeholder meetings; and participating in the Association’s advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in dietetics, public health nutrition, maternal and child health or closely allied discipline. Minimum of 1 year of work experience in the field is required. Registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills desired.
