At White House Meeting: Leaders Advocate for Access to Care and Treatment of Obesity
The Academy's Kids Eat Right program was highlighted during a recent White House meeting of leaders from obesity-related scientific and professional organizations, including the Academy, who met with Deb Eschmeyer, executive director of First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! program. The group voiced support for Let's Move! initiatives and shared ideas for collaborating to meet the needs of people living with obesity.

Action Alert – Child Nutrition Programs Reauthorization Act  Congress will soon be debating the merits of child nutrition programs, including WIC, School Meals, Summer Food Service Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Farm to School, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Ramping Up MNT Efforts: Take Action to Include MNT in Capitol Hill Diabetes Hearing

Academy Advocates for Improved End Stage Renal Disease Quality Improvement Program
The Academy submitted formal comments<http://mailer.eatright.org/t/37276/26226065/49118/45/> urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to adopt reasonable quality measures for hypercalcemia and implement a drug designation process that accounts for the unique nature of oral-only drugs in end stage renal disease care. The Renal Dietitians DPG submitted substantial input to ensure the bundle properly accounts for care provided and ensures quality measures reflect the best standards of care.
