General Description
The Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF) is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator (SRPC) for its Food System Sustainability and Public Health (FSSPH) Program. The FSSPH program stimulates research, practice, policy, education, and communications activities to spur the transition to a more environmentally sustainable and resilient – and less wasteful - food system that provides adequate, affordable, nutritious, and safe food to all people, at all times. Areas of program focus include wasted food, urban food system resilience, protein consumption, food/farm policy, and social sustainability issues related to food system workers. The primary focus of this position is to coordinate and implement projects and activities that advance program goals and objectives at the intersection of food system sustainability/resilience and public health, and to advance CLF's mission.

The SRPC position is interdisciplinary in scope and involves multiple roles and responsibilities that utilize a range of skills including strong project management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and skills in research and literature review. In addition, the position requires expertise in at least two of the following: food systems, public health, and sustainability/resilience issues. Working closely with and under the supervision of the FSSPH Program Director, the SRPC plays a key role in the entire program portfolio of research, policy, practice, communications, and community engagement activities.

Specific roles and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide program coordination and project management, including: developing project and program workplans, developing and maintaining program and project budgets, maintaining project timelines, generating and completing internal approval documents.
2.     Engage in policy and practice activities on behalf of the program and in line with CLF goals more broadly, including participating in, organizing and leading meetings, speaking in public, writing and reviewing materials, networking and more;
3.     Assist with research projects, including gathering and synthesizing literature/data from secondary sources and key individuals. If appropriately trained, the individual may also assist with qualitative and quantitative research;
4.     Contribute to writing research and policy papers, op-eds, fact sheets, blogs, and other communications materials as needed in support of program and CLF objectives;
5.     Assist in developing grant proposals and generating reports to funding organizations;
6.     Perform ongoing surveillance of food system sustainability issues, related policy, funding opportunities, and levers of change to assure the program's strategic engagement;
7. Supervise undergraduate and graduate research assistants working in support of program activities.
Liaise, communicate, and coordinate with colleagues among all CLF program areas, (including communication, education, and administration) to ensure that: FSSPH program activities are clear and understood; that synergies are achieved in terms of resource utilization; and that activities reflect an integration of CLF program areas. Also, participate in other CLF projects and program areas as appropriate.
Qualifications

Must have excellent organizational, writing, public speaking, and networking skills. Must also have strong knowledge of, and program management experience in two or more of the following areas: public health, food systems, environmental sustainability.
We are seeking an independent learner and worker with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and effectively as a team member. Must be organized, efficient, and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and be flexible.
