Regional Grains Sales Manager – Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket This part-time position will be responsible for operating Greenmarket’s Regional Grains Stand this fall at Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket to complement a 12-week rotating craft beverage stand on Saturdays (Sept 12 – Nov 21). The manager will be responsible for running the Greenmarket Regional Grains stand, selling local grains, beans, flours, and more to Greenmarket customers.

This position reports to the Greenmarket Publicity Manager, the Craft Beverage Program Coordinator, and the Greenmarket Regional Grains Project supervisor.

This person must be available to work every Saturday from Sept. 5 – Nov. 21 from 6:30am-5pm. The position requires very good communications skills, an interest in regional grains, and the willingness to work out doors long days in all weather.

Regional Grains Sales Manager’s Responsibilities Below is a list of some, but not all, of the Craft Beverage Market Manager’s
duties:
• Able to drive a cargo van, and load and unload market equipment.
• Ensure that publicity and promotional materials are available and
being distributed to customers.
• Be able to talk with people in the markets and represent Greenmarket.
In particular, answer customer questions regarding the rotating brewers/ distillers, restaurants and grains and flours.
• Maintain and protect (from rain and excessive heat) inventory of
grains products, and set up display for sales.
•Conduct sales of whole grains and flours and maintain an accurate
record of sales using cash, EBT, and debit/credit.
• Maintain an accurate record of EBT and debit/credit transactions,
tokens sold and redeemed, and other required paperwork at the market and in the office.
• Provide weekly e-mail updates to supervisors.

Physical Requirements
•  Work outdoors, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up
to 12 hours in a day), sometimes in extreme temperatures.
• Transport heavy/bulky items, up to 50 lbs
• Work in a potentially noisy environment.

Other Requirements
Have a valid and up-to-date Department of Health’s Food Protection Certificate.
