There is now one week left to submit the final round of applications for the Fall 2015 Clinical Practice Training
Program!
The Clinical Practice Training Program is an intensive 10-week program designed to equip prospective medical, nursing, public health, and allied-health school students with introductory clinical skills
and offer experience of what the field of medicine and public health is all about.
Our coursework integrates American Heart Association (AHA) certification courses to simulate a well-rounded clinical experience. Medical professionals and certified instructors immerse you in intensive coursework, giving you firsthand insight into what it is
like becoming a medical professional. This summer's program will feature a new experiential learning module, integrating clinical skills with applied public health research and case analyses. Your coursework will include:
-
Cardiac Resuscitation
-
Medical & Trauma Emergencies
-
Cardiac Electrophysiology and Disorders
-
EKG Interpretation
-
Clinical Pharmacology
-
Public Health & Policy
-
Clinical Skills in Internal Medicine
-
Qualitative & Quantitative Research Methods
Throughout the session, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge learned into a case study analysis
of community health care models and analyze best practices to tackle our most pressing public health issues.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive 5 certifications from the American Heart Association and the Academy of Medical & Public Health Services, which are the same
certifications mandated for professional licensure.

Who We Are
The Academy of Medical &
Public Health Services (AMPHS) is a federally-recognized not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the health care of underprivileged
communities. Named a Top-Rated Nonprofit out of 1.8 million nonprofits reviewed in 2013 and 2014, we are a multidisciplinary clinical and public health research organization that develops sustainable healthcare infrastructures for patients who have been turned
away by other healthcare providers. We specifically take in difficult patient cases afflicting our most vulnerable populations and connect
them to the care they need.
In accomplishing these goals, we work very closely with undergraduate, post-bacc, graduate, and professional school students across the country
to provide clinical setting exposure, training opportunities, volunteer and internship opportunities in
clinical medicine, public health, health policy, and health law and ethics.
