Dear NFS-L Subscribers,

Alas, this is the last time I will be able to share with you posts received from my all-time favorite food & nutrition membership group—HEN (Hunger & Environmental Nutrition Practice Group). But this should not be the last time you hear from them.  If you’re a member of the Academy (that would be AND) I urge you to join HEN. It’s something like $35/year. HEN is, hands down, the most action-oriented AND group I know of.

Academy DPG Experts Needed

The Academy is considering commenting on a number of proposed regulations, regulatory guidance and information/data collections in the next two months. If you are interested in contributing to the Academy's responses to these regulatory initiatives, please contact Courtney Puidk ([log in to unmask]) or Paula Martin ([log in to unmask]).  Many of these information collections are seeking strategies and input for improving research and program structure on the listed topics.

To read more about the proposed rules, click on the links below. The dates noted are the deadline for DPGs to submit input to the Academy's Regulatory Affairs department. We need to collect comments at least three days prior to each to allow enough time for the comments to be collected and edited for submission by HEN as a DPG.

HEN's passionate and knowledgeable speakers

are in great demand across the country.

The HEN Speakers Bureau List aims to create a comprehensive list of HEN members interested in speaking or presenting on HEN related topics.

By adding your name and information to the HEN Speakers Bureau List , you'll be connected to even more opportunities to share the mission and values of HEN with other RDN's at affiliate and interdisciplinary conferences. The HEN Speakers Bureau Chair may contact you with potential speaking opportunities and your name and email may be provided to conference organizers seeking out HEN speakers in your region.

For more information regarding joining the Speakers Bureau, contact Lacy Stephens, HEN Speakers Bureau Chair, at [log in to unmask] or 816-914-0597.
