Rehab/LTC facility in Brooklyn where there's an opening for a part-time dietary clerk. This is an opportunity for those who want to gain exposure in the field.




Dietary Clerk Wanted

Bedford Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

20 to 25 hrs per week. From 7am to approximately 12pm.

This is primarily a food and nutrition department customer service position:


  *   Proactively helping residents fill out weekly menu and snack preferences appropriate to their diet orders
  *   Working closely with residents (including resident's council), nursing, and food service to ensure residents are receiving foods they enjoy that meet any therapeutic goals
  *   Handling guest and special event meal requests
  *   Basically, making sure that residents are as happy as practical with the food, nutrition, and the service they receive - whether during short or long term stays.
Operational responsibilities include:

  *   Reviewing new and modified diet orders in the Electronic Medical System
  *   Entering these orders into the Geri Menu food service system to ensure food service accuracy and responsiveness.
  *   Printing daily meal and nourishment tickets as well as making any corrections needed during the day
  *   Troubleshooting Geri Menu issues with IT
  *   Producing various reports, including production sheets
  *   Performing quality assurance checks on diet orders

Preferred Skills:

  *   Electronic medical record and menu planning software
  *   Associates degree (students enrolled would be considered)
  *   Knowledge of food and nutrition
  *   Spanish or other languages desirable
