The National Commission on Hunger, a congressionally appointed bipartisan commission, has released their report titled

“Freedom from Hunger: An Achievable Goal for the United States of America, Recommendations of the National Commission on Hunger to Congress and the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture”. See also: The commission's report recommends the U.S. D.A. use the Academy's Guide for Effective Nutrition Interventions and Education "to define best practices within SNAP-Ed, develop or modify programs and evaluate outcomes."

Webinar Volunteer Needed

The HEN DPG is seeking a student, intern, or other interested HEN

member to help us with a short-term project compiling resources to support our 2016 webinar series!

Responsibilities:

Work with the Webinar Chair and other HEN Leadership Team members to identify and compile resources to be shared during HEN webinars and on the HEN website. The resources will focus on food waste, food security policy, and community-based approaches to addressing food insecurity.

Hours: Approximately 20 hours total or less.

Start date and time frame: January-April 2016. Most of the work will happen in January and February.

Compensation: This is an unpaid opportunity.

Supervision: The HEN Webinar Chair will work closely with you throughout the research process, so you will have plenty of guidance.
