Healthy Bodegas in the Bronx
The Mott Haven Herald recently did a story about William Troncoso (above left), owner of Makey Deli (Third Avenue and 149th Street, Bronx NY), and Eugenio Brito, (above right) owner
of Brito Deli (corner of Crimmins Avenue and East 141st Street, Bronx NY), and the Healthy Bodega Initiative with our partners, The Bodega Association and Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network. The article notes that organizations such as Bronx
Health REACH and City Harvest will improve Bronxites' overall health by teaching bodega employees how to sell and promote healthier items, and making a profit for the bodegas.
