The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a proposed rule to require retail food stores that accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to carry a great variety of choices<http://click.rwjfmail.org/?qs=769f07bd41c7b70044163a1547f4f600a42f807ff4667c585071ae2db7dc0eca> among certain food categories, including fruits, vegetables, breads, poultry, and fish. The rule, which is subject to a 60-day public comment period, would codify provisions included in the 2014 Farm Bill. A report from Healthy Eating Research identifies a number of stocking and marketing strategies to promote healthier purchases in small retail stores <http://click.rwjfmail.org/?qs=769f07bd41c7b7006bfd968d1587dc6946d41610860d8cbd32eb2ef9029a04de> .
