Lecturer Position - Nutrition, Exercise Science and Community/Public Health, Binghamton University 
The Decker School of Nursing (DSON), Division of Healthand Wellness Studies seeks applicants for a Lecturer position in Nutrition, Exercise Science and Community/Public Health.  This full-time (10 month), non-tenure track faculty position has an anticipated start date of Fall 2016, and is renewable annually. 

The successful candidate will possess strong teaching and evaluation skills with an interest in research.  We are seeking applicants with expertise in a transdisciplinary approach to health, curriculum development, research, grant writing, and connections with local agencies for collaborative experiential learning, and intern placement.  Collaborative qualities of the candidate are essential as evidenced by previous work on cooperative interdisciplinary projects and/or grant applications.

Preference will be given to candidates who have taught in higher education and have experience teaching exercise and health-related curriculum in a traditional and on-line environment.  The position will require teaching general education courses as well as courses in the Health and Wellness Studies Minor.  Additional faculty responsibilities may include student advising, committee assignments, scholarship, and service to the university.  Experience with a variety of technology including on-line learning environments and innovative classroom teaching is preferred.  Having relevant Exercise and Wellness related certifications as well as participation and membership in professional organizations is encouraged.

Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and academic preparation.  The Division of Health and Wellness emphasizes teaching, research, and service.  The position reports to the Director of Health and Wellness Studies.

Requirements:
Qualified applicants must hold a Master's degree with preference given to doctoral candidates (ABD) or (PhD) in a health-related field.  Certifications from ACSM, CHES, Registered Dietitian (RD) or equivalent are desirable.  A minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching in a higher education, health and wellness or nutrition program is requested.

Public Health Nutritionist 1 - 45445, Albany, NY

The Bureau of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded public health nutrition program that provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in day care. The Public Health Nutritionist 1 (PHNI) will provide nutrition expertise and technical assistance to ensure the quality and safety of food service operations at participating organizations. On-site visits conducted by the PHN1 will also monitor and evaluate fiscal and administrative integrity and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities of the PHN1 may include: reviewing and recommending approval of applications and providing training related to menu planning, food service operations, obesity prevention programming and maintaining required records consistent with CACFP regulations. The PHN1 may supervise support personnel.

Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Currently registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association AND two years of full-time, professional experience, after successful completion of the Registered Dietitian exam, in the field of nutrition or dietetics, including one year experience as a nutritionist or dietitian in a public health or community nutrition program; or in a governmental agency in the oversight and review of health care/ health related facilities licensed by a state department of health or federal health agency; or in a health care facility licensed by a state department of health. Substitution: A Master’s degree in public health with a major in nutrition, a master’s degree in nutrition with emphasis in public or community health, or a master’s degree in applied human nutrition with six graduate credits in public health may be substituted for one year of the required general experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate would have experience working in a public health nutrition program, and have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. A strong command of technology solutions that support efficient program operations is preferred. The ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities is required.

Registered Dietitian - IAHD - Bronx, NY [$47,000 a year]

General Duties :
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the development of all personalized menus for the residential individuals they are assigned to. He or she will conduct routine observation of food preparation at the assigned residences and guarantees that all meals are nutritionally sound, varied and palatable. Menus are updated twice per year for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. Dietitian works with each residence to fine tune each menu to include likes and cultural preferences.
Upon review of each medical chart inclusive of weight charts and lab work at least semiannually, the Dietitian is responsible for recommendation of diet needs of all assigned individuals to the primary physician. They work very closely with the Speech Pathologists and Nurse to ensure modified diets are prescribed as part of the total health or nursing care plan.
He/she will prepare at minimum annual nutritional assessments for assigned individuals which are made part of permanent medical record. These assessments are presented at annual ISP meetings where their presence is expected.
The Dietitian will analyze prescribed diets, set goals and supervise that the diet plan is carried out by those preparing the food and provide training as needed.
He/she reviews nutritional plan each month and notes progress or problems.
Maintains a file system containing pertinent data (data/age/name/weight/etc.)
Maintains nutrition notes in medical charts when appropriate
Provide situational counseling to individuals when needed

Educational Requirements:
The Registered Dietitian must have a B.S. Degree in Nutrition from an accredited college program and be registered in NYS.
He/she must be abreast of new trends and developments within the field and have the capacity to apply these to practical situations. 3 years of experience working with IDD population preferred.
