Disaster Ready Summit

The Disaster Institute is a large multiple day training event held annually for anyone and everyone who wants to learn how to help the American Red Cross respond to disasters in their communities.

We are recruiting volunteers for the 2016 Disaster Ready Submit that will take place Friday April 1st Sunday April 3rd.

Volunteer roles for event:

 

·  Event Support Staff (Morning shift or Evening shift): You will assist Red Cross staff and volunteers with registration. Checking in event attendees and directing attendees to session events.

               

·  Room Managers (Morning shift or Evening shift): You will be maintaining room capacity by keeping record of attendance in each classroom on behalf of the Red Cross Disaster department.

               

·  Disaster Actors: You will support the Regional Disaster Officer (RDO) of the American Red Cross Greater New York Region for a Day Exercise, in the SimCell (reusable manual system for setting up and operating an Emergency Operations Center simulation cell)

If you would like to attend the courses that are available that day you may attend the course before or after your shift is done.  If you would just like to attend the courses you are free to sign up for classes on the official site.
