Dear Nevin,

Spring has arrived in New York City, and we’re taking our Nutrition Education programs outside! With our Mobile Market Cooking Demonstrations back on the calendar for the warmer months, we’re looking for volunteer leaders to “Adopt a Market” and help us bring quality Nutrition Education to clients at our Mobile Markets throughout the five boroughs.

Please share our call for volunteer leaders below with your students, alumni, or any other contacts you may have who might be interested!

Thank you for your continued support in our fight to end hunger in New York City.

Best,

Molly

Calling All Nutrition Ed Volunteers!

At City Harvest, our Mobile Market Cooking Demonstrations offer a unique opportunity to share high quality nutrition education and healthy cooking pointers with a diverse group of people. As clients at our Mobile Markets move through the market, our Cooking Demo chefs will be preparing and sharing samples of delicious and healthy recipes using the produce being distributed that day.

We are currently recruiting for confident, skilled chef volunteers to become Mobile Market Cooking Demo Leaders. These leaders would adopt a market site and commit to attending one regularly occurring market day per month. With training and support from City Harvest staff and assistance from other volunteers, leaders would be responsible for setting up the demo station, facilitating engaging and organized demonstrations, and assisting with clean-up.

Adopting a market can be a great way to build leadership skills and create a sense of community at one of our projects. Share your passion for healthy cooking and give back to fellow New Yorkers in a meaningful way!

Please direct all inquiries about becoming a volunteer leader to Molly Alpern, [log in to unmask], 646.412.0917.
