  • Only about 40%–50% of young children (ages 2–5 years) receive psychological services as part of their treatment for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)—according to the latest Vital Signs report.

Clean hands count campaignToday on CDC’s Safe Healthcare Blog, Angela Vassallo, APIC Communications Committee member, talks about the factors that are really important when it comes to hand hygiene in patient care – technique, consistency, and adherence. Vassallo shares a fun exercise called The Finger Paint Method to help healthcare providers assess and make improvements in their own hand hygiene practice.

Thursday, May 5th, was World Hand Hygiene Day. CDC launched a new “Clean Hands Count” campaign urging healthcare professionals, patients, and patients’ loved ones to prevent healthcare-associated infections by keeping their hands clean.

Join the conversation! Read the blog and visit the Clean Hands Count campaign website for more information.
