To provide an overview of the process for developing the Dietary Guidelines and how they influence public policy.

To describe the process used by the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) to evaluate and grade the evidence for the recommendations made in their report.

To highlight the research findings and recommendations related to behavioral change strategies at the individual, interpersonal and settings levels of the socio-ecological model of the 2015 DGAC report. .
·
To describe how the recently published 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans policy can be used by public health professionals to implement change in their organization/community/state.
