Hi Everyone!

The American Red Cross Club of Hunter College will be active for this summer. This will be a good time to rack up those hours! I'm sending this email with a survey to let us know when you (the members) will be available to volunteer and which borough will be more accessible. It will give us an idea when and where to schedule events so that most of you will be able to attend. The survey will take no more than 5 minutes of your time, so please take the time to answer it especially if you are interested in volunteering with us this summer.

The survey touches on events such as Soup Kitchens, Home Fire Preparedness Campaign, The Pillowcase Project, and On-Campus Events. I gave a brief summary of each event, more details will be covered in our June Meeting.

The Meeting will be on Wednesday, June 15th from 1:30pm to 3:00pm in 1203N
Ryan will review the constitution for the upcoming year and give details about vacancies in the club in addition to events. You must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for one of the vacant positions (Secretary/Treasurer):

- Have accumulated 30 hours via volunteer connections and attended 2 meetings
- you must satisfy Hunter's policy for being an officer; min. 2.0 gpa and enrolled for 6 credits for both fall and spring ( we're looking for a minimum of 3.0 and 12 credits min)
- to the best of your ability, answer these questions and send them to us by Monday, June 27th; Ryan and Rubaya will conduct interviews and have 2 candidates for attendees of the July 20 meeting to elect the new board. It's a bit late but, it's the best way to give a fair shot to everyone.

1) Why is it important to volunteer in your community?
2) What attributes about yourself do you feel will help strengthen the club as Secretary/Treasurer?

There is a red cross event open to all clubs:

Chapter Youth Council has organized the last event of the year, Raid Cross! An amazing experience, Raid Cross is an interactive simulation where students will learn what it's like to be a civilian, prisoner, soldier, and humanitarian aid worker during war. For those of you interested in international relations and the Red Cross' impact abroad, this is definitely the event for you! Everyone is welcome and you will all learn more about how powerful Red Cross' mission statement is especially in war-driven countries.
