What can we do about the fact that critical thinking is not recognized
as an area of competence or specialization by "Jobs for Philosophers"?
Many philosophy jobs do include at least teaching critical thinking, and
a number of topics considered by philosophers are relevant to what is
taught in critical thinking, such as causality, inference to best
explanation, speech acts, the fact-value distinction, etc.
