Great work Steve!

The good news, David, is that #57 in the World Congress list is philosophy of argumentation.

Well, that's one win for the team. Here's another significant omission of both 'critical thinking' and 'informal logic', from the list of sections for contributed papers to a world congress of philosophy. The program of world congresses of philosophy is organized by the Federation Internationale des Societes Philosophiques (FISP), a global federation of national philosophical societies such as the APA and the CPA. In addition to plenary sessions on the congress theme, it has 99 sections to which people can apply to present a contributed paper, some of which sections have sub-sections. For the list, see the first circular for the next world congress of philosophy athttps://www.fisp.org/documents/WCP%202018%20First%20Circular%20English.pdf . You will notice that, although cosmopolitanism and philosophy of food and philosophy of the axial period, among other recondite areas of investigation, are recognized as branches of philosophy, there is no listing for informal logic or critical thinking or philosophy of argument or theory of argumentation--in other words, no recognized branch of philosophy devoted to the philosophical investigation of argument and reasoning. Does anybody have any idea how to get a section added to FISP's list? It has been expanded enormously since I last looked at it, David
