I reached out to a colleague who is a marketing professor about how long the effect of these interventions last and he indicated “Our studies showed efficacy through 1
month, but we don't know beyond that.”

The Nebraska Healthy Food Retail Recognition pilot program: partnerships, measurement, and early lessons learned.
As part of the 1422 grant, Nebraska is piloting a Healthy Food Retail Recognition program in small grocery and convenience stores across the state. The program was developed through partnerships
and collaborations among the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Extension, several local Public Health Departments, the Nebraska Grocers Association, and other retail and nutrition stakeholders in the community.
This presentation will focus on the partnerships, measurement, and early lessons learned.

Dr. Teresa Smith is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition in Omaha, NE. Smith's research expertise lies in the environmental, social and
individual determinants of dietary behaviors as they relate to obesity prevention and cancer risk, including cultural and familial influences on individual dietary behaviors, healthy foods access and availability, issues of food insecurity and dietary measurement
and analysis.
Ms. Wielenga is an Extension Program Coordinator at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She has also worked with the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women,
Infants and Children (WIC), and continues to work with communities addressing food deserts and low-resource areas across Nebraska.
