Thought this free film screening & discussion might interest you....

From Academy Award-nominated director Scott Hamilton Kennedy (The Garden) and narrated by esteemed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, Food Evolution <http://www.foodevolutionmovie.com/#home> is set amidst a polarized debate: the controversy surrounding GMOs and food.

Traveling from Hawaiian papaya groves to Ugandan banana farms to Iowan cornfields, Food Evolution wrestles with the emotions and the evidence driving one of the most heated arguments of our time.

While the passionate advocates on all sides of this debate agree on the need for safe, nutritious and sustainable food for the planet, their differing views over what constitutes the truth have pit them against each other, rendering the subject of food itself into an ideological battleground.

Film to be followed by a discussion with Food Evolution co-author and producer, Trace Sheehan; Alison Van Eenennaam, scientist in the Department of Animal Science at University of California, Davis, and scientific advisor for the film; and Smita Narula, Roosevelt House Visiting Fellow. Moderated by Tamar Haspel, Washington Post food and ag columnist.
